When I look back at my university years, they feel nothing short of magical. Studying Sociology under inspiring mentors gave me rich theoretical exposure, but more importantly, it awakened in me a deep curiosity to step outside the classroom and face the real world.
Unlike many of my classmates, I didn’t have a dream job or a grand career plan in mind during my Master’s. All I wanted was to create a difference—even if it was small. That desire took a defining turn one summer afternoon when I learned about my selection for a project with UNICEF.
Travelling across districts of Assam and working closely with diverse communities was both challenging and eye-opening. The difficulties were real, but they brought with them a sense of fulfillment and clarity. It was during those moments that an inner voice whispered, “This is what you are meant to do.”
Nearly ten years have passed since that transformative summer, and I am still guided by that voice—continuing on the path of meaningful work that began with a simple wish to bring change.
