NARMADA DEKA

Despite the challenges of being a mother of two and managing responsibilities as a daughter-in-law in an extended family, Narmada Khuri stands as a pillar of strength. With her husband working as a daily wage laborer, meeting household expenses has never been easy. Yet, through her steady income from weaving and the support she receives during times of need, she ensures her family runs smoothly. Recently, her dedication and hard work enabled her to make a significant contribution toward her sister-in-law’s medical treatment—a gesture that reflects both her resilience and her unwavering commitment to her family.

DIPIKA DEKA

Living in a kuccha house without access to proper sanitation, Dipika Khuri has faced constant struggles in her daily life. Yet, amidst these hardships, she continues to work tirelessly with the hope of building a brighter future for her three daughters. At times, the absence of even basic infrastructure for weaving forces her to pause, but her determination never wavers. Each time, she returns with greater strength and resilience, carrying forward her dreams for her children through her craft.

ANU DEKA

Anu Khuri’s journey with Porisoi brought her one of her first milestones—access to an LPG connection, easing her daily struggles at home. With her husband suffering from both physical and mental disabilities and often bedridden, Anu shoulders the full responsibility of managing household expenses and ensuring her children’s education. As one of our earliest beneficiaries, she continues to inspire with her dedication, hard work, and unwavering hope for a brighter future.

KONBALA DEKA

Konbala Khuri, one of our very first weavers, has become a true inspiration in her community. She recalls how, before joining Porisoi, weaving brought her barely ₹2,000–3,000 in an entire year. Today, through her skill and hard work, she earns more than ₹70,000 annually. Her success story has set an example for the entire village, encouraging many more women to step forward and embrace weaving as a path to independence and dignity.

GINITA DEKA

Ginita Khuri, a mother of two, has become the anchor of her family while her husband earns as an e-rickshaw driver. In the most difficult times, she has been the source of both financial and emotional strength. After years of carrying the weight of a loan taken during an emergency, Ginita has finally been able to repay it in full. With the support she received from Porisoi, she not only lifted a long-standing burden from her household but also restored hope and dignity for her family’s future.
